December 19, 2021 - 1-2 hour decant. Have always been a huge MM fan but this bottle couldn’t overcome the difficulties of the ‘17 vintage. Everything you’d want in a wine was there, but muted, too much so. Maybe better with age?

November 18, 2021 - Two hour slow ox. Opaque magenta color. Dark raspberry taffy, bay leaf, and toffee on the nose. Smooth, dry palate. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

This is perhaps the ‘17 Napa red I’ve ever had. More air may make it even better. I’d suggest a 2-3 hour full decant. Had this at a high end wine tasting in Houston.

October 29, 2021 - At the Memento Mori tasting room, hosted by Genevieve. Although the critics have generally dismissed the 2017 vintage, I found this wine to be showing incredibly well. A deep purple core, with an outgoing personality, offering up scents of ripe black fruits, tobacco, violets, and loamy earth. Medium bodied, ripe tannins, a round texture, but as was the case with all of these wines, surprisingly good balance, freshness and depth. Long and savory finish

December 29, 2020 - Opaque purple color with expansive black and purple fruit, leather, cedarwood, cacao and subtle spice aromas. On the palate it's medium-bodied with medium-acidity and polished, sweet tannins. It's seamless and elegant with a very supple texture and shows blackberry, boysenberry, red currant, and a hint of dried Morello cherry flavors accented with vanilla, cacao, and baking spice notes and a long delicious finish. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, Beckstoffer Las Peidras, Oakville Ranch, Vine Hill Ranch and Weitz vineyards. Raised in 100% new French oak for 22 months. 15.2% abv|This wine was gift. According to Cellar Tracker the average price is ~$225|750 cases
