January 26, 2024 - Even better than a few years ago, now you find caramel, honey, flowers, and fresh, sweet, overripe pineapples with a hint of spice, racy, honeyed apricots, and orange rind. Drink from 2024-2040.

January 25, 2024 - UGCB SF Tasting Event (Metreon, San Francisco): No 2021 because of frost, so they've chosen to pour the '18? What an odd choice. Overly sweet, a bit oaky, and insufficient acid to carry the botrytis and sugar. Didn't care for this. 85

January 24, 2024 - UGC 2021 Bordeaux (Vibiana, Los Angeles, CA): The nose is immediate and a bit unrefined, filling the nose with kumquats, melons, red apples, nectarines, apricots, peaches, and yellow flowers. The tones more sit on the surface and this doesn't really show off too much depth. The Full bodied feel is balanced and textured with tart, high acidity. The lack of depth from the nose carries through on the palate. It is well textured and possibly a bit awkward right now. I could see this improving with at least another 5+ years of aging.

December 14, 2023 - CdT Dinner (Christy's): Delicious, what Sauternes is supposed to be in my mind. Rich, sweet syrup with bright sweet fruit. Golden color. Great wine and a great value.

November 6, 2023 - Fine spice of saffron, honey, bees wax, caramel and toffee. Pretty suppressed fruit, however. Viscous with creamy texture, not enough acidity and hence lacks freshness, leaving you with a rather flat sensation.

Viel Frucht, Ananas, reife Aprikose, mittlere Tiefe, mittlere Säure, keine übertriebene Süße, guter Trinkfluss. Eigentlich ein Barsac, kein Sauterne.

August 30, 2023 - Lively and piercing, particularly for affordable Sauternes, the result of noteworthy framing acids. Showing younger than one might expect, with white and yellow meadow flowers, stone fruit, dried tropical fruits, and touches of citrus zest. Behind the freshness, sous-bois and terroir-driven substance make their mark.

Highly enjoyable now (ridiculously so with blue cheese) and improvement seems likely. An overachiever! Exceptional QPR! 92-93.

December 29, 2022 - Nice gold color with syrupy legs. Nose is apricots, lemon rind, pineapple, acacia, and custard. Fresh pour has the same, with pineapple and honey hitting high notes. Great creamy texture, and floral finish. Saving the rest of the bottle for tomorrow, will update.

<Edit> Already quite good, got better on second and third nights, with grilled pineapple taking over at first, and then more almond and butterscotch notes by the third night. Never cloyingly sweet. Good QPR and should age very nicely.
