July 20, 2023 - Very concentrated with an impressive nose. This has tense acid and a long finish, but seems to lack some of the more characteristic notes of boal. The fruit seems to be somewhat missing here. Reminiscent of the 1908 which was even more jarringly concentrated and acidic than this. Improved with more air over the course of two months.

October 4, 2016 - Consumed over two weeks. Molasses, bitter orange, muscovado, dry soil notes. Great tangy acid on the finish, with long lingering orange and brown sugar notes. 94-95

June 25, 2014 - Tawny color. Classic aromas of brown sugar, coffee, nut skins and tea. Rich, high acid fruit in the mouth with outstanding depth and length. Very intense and silky on the palate. As the bottle was newly opened, the wine will need at least several months to reach its full potential.

February 6, 2013 - Stunning from the first pour to the last glass. Drank over a 90 day period after opening. Even improved after about 2 weeks of being opened, if that is possible.

December 30, 2012 - extraordinary layers of flavors with 10-15 min lingering finish.
honey, apricot, almond, quince with some carmel
