March 5, 2023 - Sour cherry others mentioned is spot on, and pomegranate (little less tart than Pom juice).

    Tannins are mellowed out beautifully.

As the wine warmed up (being outside the cooler) interestingly the sourness, acid became less pronounced. Maybe food toned it down. Some crushed raspberries / sour cherries.

    Great wine with food

September 5, 2022 - Pnp, very red fruit dominated with a red raspberry compote coming through, some sour cherry and while the alcohol is present it does not overwhelm the wine. To me the fruit is a little more subdued than other WS Zin bottlings but nonetheless enjoyed with a Black Angus rib eye.

October 31, 2021 - Oh my. The aromatics on this are extraordinary. So bright and lusciously fruited. Not dark or brooding at all, just singing confected red fruits, sour cherry jam, oak spice, very pure and so, so pretty. Acid is very high - definitely needs some fatty food right now - but a few hours after opening a savoriness comes out that helps tie it together some more. Alcohol very well balanced. The Bacigalupi is my favorite of the Williams Selyem zins from 2017, specifically for its generous aromatics and brightness. I'd drink it before those subside too much, but no great rush. 15.1%, $65.

July 15, 2021 - 15.1% abv. Dark ruby, extremely aromatic. Ripe boysenberry, cassis, mint and bramble make up a very focused and concentrated palate impression. Rick, deep and long, this wine is great now and over the next 6-8 years.

March 23, 2021 - 15.1% abv. Dark ruby, very aromatic. This wine shows great intensity, depth and length. Red and blue fruit and Zin bramble. Very enjoyable.
