February 3, 2024 - This the first BR sky Syrah I have had, and liked it. Actually all of us did. Nice savory Syrah with blackberry, mild black licorice, and an herbaceous that was very seductive. After looking at the label and it showed 14.7% alc, but we were surprised, because it did not show at all.
December 5, 2023 - Really good, a treat. Hitting its sweet spot now. Should have bought more.
November 11, 2023 - Mid weight and savory, this went down a little too easy! A touch of blackberry fruit on the palate, olive tapenade, earth, and herbs on the nose. Nice to encounter a Syrah in this style that isn't also a bruiser. Ready to drink but no rush.
July 29, 2023 - Dark inky color. Plum dominates the nose, with a whiff of bacon and herbs. Good fruit on the palate, with nice earthy notes. 14.7% ABV, but doesn’t drink like it. Nice wine. No hurry.
July 11, 2023 - Deep purple in color, this syrah has dark red berries and plum flavors with spice and smoke notes at the end. This med to full bodied wine is nicely balanced and drinking well now.
July 1, 2023 - Really drinking well now, quite good, balanced
June 1, 2023 - Brooding nose of smoky dark red fruits, tobacco leaf, and bay leaf. Dry black fruits on the palate with sandy soil, red fruit notes, and a funky sassafras edge. Firm tannins and ash start the finish followed by a rush of acidity, then minerals, rocks, a touch of orange pith.
July 22, 2022 - Soft fruits with black raspberry, pepper, smoke. Highly spiced with almost a Zin like backbone, dark, but not heavy. Likely improves with time. Could go 10+ from here.
Needs little decanting - 30 min or so.
April 17, 2022 - Great Syrah. Well-balance, medium body, warn fruits.
October 28, 2021 - Wine was a bit tight upon opening, but on the second night was open and awesome. Dark red fruit notes on nose and palate. Medium-full bodied with long finish. One of the best Bedrock Syrahs that I have tasted. 93+
