November 23, 2021 - Popped and poured. Dark ruby. Red fruit with an alluring floral overlay and just enough earthiness. An absolutely gorgeous expression of a classic Sonoma Valley site, with both intensity and lightness in equal measure. Total stunner that is drinking profoundly well right now.
November 16, 2021 - I try not to open my Bedrock's too young but I grabbed this one anyway. Balanced , so smooth, really nice. Too bad it's my only bottle.
October 18, 2021 - Remarkable field blend that just shines from start to finish
April 21, 2021 - This may be one of my new favorites! All black blend that shows so much dark fruit flavors in a medium bodied chassis. It’s very easy to guzzle this wine, as it’s palate coating with tons of secondary fruits. Lovely stuff- wish we had more.
April 19, 2021 - Really good with significant upside.
March 15, 2021 - 14.5% abv. Medium-dark ruby, very aromatic. On the palate, black cherry, ripe plum, forrest floor and Christmas spice. Good depth, excellent length and intensity. A lot going on this this wine and it is almost all good, but the wine requires several more years in the bottle to be at its best. And its best is going to be very fine indeed!
March 8, 2021 - Had a little trouble finding the unique signature of this heritage. Maybe still too young. Showing a lot of red berry fruit with some blue undertones. Fine grained somewhat gritty tannins on the palate. Moderate finish. Solid Zin, with some of the structure of the “blacks” apparent. Might have to taste side by side to really see where this stands in the lineup. Followed over 2 nights.
November 25, 2020 - A very serviceable everyday wine at this price. An abundance of fruit on the nose and mouth. Deep red cherry color with good acidity.
October 14, 2020 - Something different about this wine from Bedrocks other zin-based field blends. As noted in Morgan’s release email, this has a significant proportion of Grenache and that grape comes through a deep candied strawberry flavor as counterpoint to the pepper and dark fruit of the Zinfandel. Very nice. The wine improved markedly over 4 days, and I had double decanted on day 1. Would recommend giving this time to really show its stuff.
August 17, 2020 - Pale ruby
Nose: Peach preserves, white pepper, bramble.
Mouth: Pure flavors of pomegranate, raspberry puree, juiced black cherry, and orange zest glide across the palate, picking up flavors of black pepper and a light edge of bramble. Tannins are finely manicured, providing fine-grained grip on the extended finish.
Overall: Everything gushes here, a beautiful showing of various juiced fruits that comes laid back and still complex. This is solid, if running the more candied end of the spectrum, and is notably missing a lot of oak influence. Could use a bit more structure, but the melange of fruit is its raison d'etre. Will support a bit of aging, but I think getting to it while it's still juicy/fresh is important. Drink now - 2029.
