January 14, 2021 - Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, medium yellow. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity, youthful aromas of peach, apple, pineapple, straw, and hints of freshly baked bread. Palate: Dry, medium- acid, medium alcohol and body, medium+ intensity, flavors of pear, honeydew melon, steel, and hints of licorice with a medium+ (45-60 second) finish. Outstanding complexity and balance with very good intensity and length. Still quite youthful, with easily a 5+ year drinking window - outstanding.

December 13, 2020 - Though picked at a relatively low potential alcohol of 21.7 brix, the 1954-planted field blend of Gewurztraminer, Trousseau Gris, Riesling, Roter Veltliner, Chenin Blanc, and more is immensely concentrated with thick skins and small berries. The result is a particularly aromatic and intense effort that shows off the flamboyant aromatics of Gewurz with the texture of Trousseau Gris (aka Grey Riesling in CA) and snap of Riesling (aka White Riesling in CA) and Chenin. Native fermented in a combination of neutral oak and stainless-steel barrels with no MLF to retain freshness. Five barrels made. (Source: Bedrock Winery)

October 25, 2020 - An old gewurz-dominant field blend, that comes across especially perfumed and seemingly with a pinch of residual sugar. Simple yet abundantly interesting, and between the sweetness and nice acid backbone, this was a great partner to spicy curries. I enjoy Bedrock’s rendition more than Carlisle’s.

February 29, 2020 - Pop and pour, consumed over 2 hours. Nose: Medium-plus intensity, pear, lemon, and saline dominate with white flower and straw notes. Palate: Medium bodied, wonderful creamy mouth-feel, juicy pear and lemon dominate the attack, nice mineral back-bone shows through the mid-palate with steel and licorice notes appearing in the back-end. Finish: Medium-plus length dominated by freshly canned pears, saline, and light licorice notes. This hits on all cylinders from front to back - great mouth-feel, wonderful flavor, and great balance.

January 14, 2020 - Consistently one of my favorite whites from Bedrock and this vintage is no different. Lychee, lemons, flowers and citrus pith. A nice, sharp, pleasingly bitter, lip-smacking finish.
