June 28, 2021 - 14.5% abv. Medium ruby, espressive aromatics. Cherry, ripe plum, menthol and white pepper. Excellent depth, length and mouthfeel. Delicious, poised and extremely charming, this has the structure to continue to improve for years to come. Outstanding effort!

February 18, 2021 - A bit reticent, this could probably use a couple years. Black plum, red and black cherries, raspberry, blackberry, sweet orange, camphor, vanilla, mint, diverse spice, suspicions of lavender, rosehips and peppery cured meat. Full, rich and velvety on the palate, quite structured, with lots of fine tannin and lively acidity. Intense finish, very long, with superb tannic grip, loads of spice and herbs, and deep dark fruitiness. This has such range: tangy and jammy, warm and cool, dark and light... It is a bit raw today, but so complex, and everything is on point, leading me to believe that this will develop supreme balance in time. I will try to save this as long as I can, as I bet it will be amazing in 15 to 20 years.

February 18, 2021 - Dried black currants, blackberries, fruit leather, hint of flowers and vanilla, old pipe tobacco, touch of smoke, stony, dehydrated parsley and carrots. Big and bold, bright fruit, immediately very tannic/astringent, crushed stone, dry, cranberry and pomegranate.

January 24, 2021 - Focused and polished, red fruit driven. Nice acidity giving this freshness and structure. Chalky finish. With a couple air developed impressive aromatics for a young wine. Love the deft touch on the winemaking—keeping this crisp, mid weight and lifted.

October 3, 2020 - Two things strike me from Morgan's release notes on this vineyard: (1) beautiful, precise fruit...and the brightness that comes with the exposure to the Pacific Ocean and (2) this will take a little time to unfurl. He is absolutely correct on both accounts but the wine is also drinking so well right now.

Pop and pour and consumed over several hours; no decant; perfumed nose of red cherry and mild baking spice; really pretty dark red to magenta color; fresh, juicy, bright bing cherry palate, with cranberry and orange peel zing, undertones of thanksgiving spice; after time, a little darker fruit profile begins to emerge (maybe from the Carignan?); there is a nice mineral undertone that makes the fruit a little "crunchy" similar to beaujolais (i love it); great acid that lifts the wine and helps it glide effortlessly across the palate.

At the moment, this wine is wonderful, with the showcase being the bright, fresh and lively fruit. I'm sure it will only get better but I'm not unhappy to have had this right now. (Note to self: buy more)
