February 22, 2023 - Silky smooth butter and apple. A really good cool climate Chardonnay drinking well but has a few years.

December 22, 2021 - PnP. Oakey nose. Palate is dominated by lemongrass notes with a nice mineral streak, Short lemony finish. A rather one dimensional chard that is just ok. May have rated better if not paired blind against the very good 2015 Bachelder Wismer-Foxcroft chard.

November 21, 2021 - Hazy notes. This seemed to be drinking very well now, but will last too. The balance and intensity of the wine were highlights. Medium to full bodied, with a great mixture of fruit, oak and acidity: everything in place. Nicely done (A-).

salivant. La finale super longue et franche
nous laisse sur une impression de fleurs
    et de vivacité.
    SUPERBE!

February 27, 2021 - 2017 Le Clos Jordanne was complex, characterful and mineral-driven. The Niagara single-vineyard Chardonnay was clear and pale lemon in colour. There were complex perfume of ripe pears, melon and white peach, followed by lemon zest, acacia blossom, smoke and cream.

The mouthfeel was dry, intense and full-bodied, with medium-high level of rounded acidity. Flavours of grapefruit, brioche, marzipan and saline minerals persisted in a long gently spiced finish. The alcohol level was at 13%.

It has a great core of fruits and saline minerality to live up with the French oak and malolactic flavours. It is among the best Niagara Chardonnay I have tasted. It could evolve comfortably in bottle for a decade or more.

According to the winery website, the wine was aged for sixteen months in 20% new French oak barrels. The must was fermented on ambient yeast, and the malolactic fermtentation was natural.
