July 13, 2020 - Accessible yet interesting, a nice weeknight red. Last bottle but looking forward to the 2018 so not a bad thing..

June 29, 2020 - A nice moderate weekday red, with some personality. Developing nicely wish I had bought more than I did.

October 19, 2019 - Autumn Tasting (San Diego Wine Co.): "40% Barbera di Monferrato, 25% Barbera d’Asti Cappellatta, 25% Barbera d’Asti, & 10% Bonarda from 15 yrs old vines planted in sand & limestone soils;" Typically, "Fermented in s/s, where it ages for 10 mos before bottling." 13.5% ABV

N: Cherries (blk?) with hints of vanilla (?) slightly atop earth

P: LM body; NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by an astringent pucker which almost seems to build as it evolves into a LONG, very, VERY slightly tangy, BITTER/swt (60:40) finish which only ULT shows some measure of pleasantness. IF a yr or so of cellaring is helpful, my VG/VG+ (86-89/100 on that metric) will be lowish. [This vendor's $8.99 compares VERY favorably with Kermit's $14!]

September 5, 2019 - Monthly Tasting at Wine Wizards (Wine Wizards Stockton): Have bought this blend in previous years and this vintage is similar, a great value at $12. Spicy and complex, with ample acidity a weeknight red, that will work with anything. Will improve with time but nice now. It is an blend: 40% Barbera di Monferrato, 25% Barbera d’Asti Cappellatta, 25% Barbera d’Asti, 10% Bonarda (Charbono). Great value

July 30, 2019 - Brachetto and Barbera blend, VDT release so technically a non vintage. Sour plum and cherry. very garnet and light in color. Light and easy drinking palate, has some heat on it. Interesting.
