January 29, 2021 - Massive, oaky. There’s some mountain fruit in there if you wade through the huge oak influence. Good if you like the style. Paid less than $40, worth the price but would rather have something more traditionally styled

December 4, 2020 - Good wine that hits way above it’s cost. Only wish I had another six bottles.

July 14, 2020 - Not as hot on this as some others it was good not great Think it needed time to open up. Pours pretty hot Nose was new leather and a bit of musk Fruit behind it was deep dark ripe black fruit. On the palate it was still tight all elements there. Tannins were softer than expected. Definitely not a fruit bomb. Will sit on my other bottles for a bit and definitely decant the next one

April 6, 2020 - A banal name, a forgettable label that tells you that the wine was purchased from people who made wine by the people who are selling it to you...
    Not exactly auspicious beginnings.
And yet.... this is a very special wine. It is so delightful that it is with trepidation that I write about it here. I only have half a case! It is delightful, what am I doing singing the praises of a wine I adore and can barely afford?
    Good question.
First answer: hardly anyone reads my notes :)
To the wine: the nose is all stewed red fruits, strawberries sharpened by redcurrant moving to cherries, raspberries and then all together tied together with a sort ethereal sweetness that takes it a notch higher than the $150 Caymus special reserve (because less cloying and less sweet) and also perhaps above J. Davies of the same vintage(because a nicer nose, though a slightly weaker body). The body is elegant as well, not chunky, not slick and viscous as so many overextracted wines in that style so often are. The finish is a little too short, but for about $45 -- que demande le peuple? Just please don't buy it all -- if you do, and like it: send me a note at least :)

January 31, 2020 - Very well received at our monthly wine tasting dinner....however definitely needed to open up. Aroma/Nose was extremely tight.....but after about 30 min - it opened up nicely!

September 25, 2019 - Consistent with previous note. Big, if a little lacking in complexity. Still time left for it to improve, but will it?

August 23, 2019 - Pretty damn nice cab. Time left and still showing fruit, tannins subtly there. Paired great with t-bone steak on the back patio. Needs at least 2hrs of air and then it really starts singing. Will keep the other 1 until 2022.
