December 13, 2023 - It seems I've neglected California Chardonnay in the cellar and must have developed this penchant for Oregon or Burgundian options.

This wine was missing in action in my inventory until today.

    Potlatch- Pacific Sockeye Salmon.Freaking Awesome!

    Pale Yellow Gold
    Citrus Apple Yellow Grapefruit
    Pungent spices.. sage-like.
Definitely that Chablis flintiness or crushed shale. Not my favorite character.

More fragrant, buttery and dense as it warms.

    Body -Medium
    Alcohol- high
    Acid Medium-High
Tannin- none, though it's oak marked
    Viscosity- fully enveloping mouth feel
    Finish- med long 45+ seconds
    Ageability- Hmm. 3-5max years.

    A good wine.
But this isn't gonna win any "Judgement in Paris"!

Maybe I've developed a bias to Oregon chardonnay?
I'd buy this again just to compare.

But this is well made, and though there's oak and vanilla, it's not overdone.

My CT brethren have weighed in, and averaged the score on this wine at 90+.
(First comments when cold...I can't get there. But, 88 is reasonable. Who knows what another bottle might be?)

With this "More fragrant, buttery and dense as it warms", I've raised from 88 to 89.

    Addendum -
Overnight, it became more steely, flinty, freshly crushed shale etc. It's much more checks Chablis like today... Like leaving fresh cold water in a steel bucket for a time, and the water takes on that lovely "steel-bucket-like" flavor? Hmm?

I'll leave it at 89, but this will not get me back to try it again

    Chardonnay 100%
    14.5% abv

    PS- Drink The Rainbow!

October 20, 2023 - My first wine from this legendary Napa producer. Karia in Greek translates to graceful, depicting its elegant but rich and concentrated body. Wine is aged for 8 months on its lees in FR oak, 30% new. Medium lemon colour. Medium intensity aroma of cream, vanilla, peaches, honeydew lemon, ripe apples, yellow plums, yeasty touch. Full body, powerful and opulent, with creamy and silky texture, medium acidity, rich and concentrated flavours of roasted apple, honey, butter, vanilla, toasted notes at medium finish.

October 30, 2022 - Opened, drank a few glasses, vacu-sealed and stored in a regular fridge for about ten days. Every glass was pretty good including the last two after being vacu-sealed. This is a flowery, citrusy Chardonnay without much of a steely backbone. Good with food, especially grilled or pan-fried seafood, fire grilled chicken, and hard cheese like a romano. Good QPR.

November 25, 2021 - This wine has a beautiful golden hue and aromas of apples and butterscotch. The first tastes are of cider apples, ripe pears and buttered oak with hints of pineapple and melon. The finish has a mild lime acidity complimented with a pleasantly lingering taste of warm oak.

Enjoyed with Thanksgiving turkey and all the fixings along with a 2019 Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc.
