May 1, 2024 - Similar to my previous note from a few months ago with an added creaminess I didn’t pick up on before. Delicious.

March 17, 2024 - A little flat compared to past or future vintages... But it packs a lot in 11% abv.

February 2, 2024 - 100% Semillon from Hunter Valley plots. In the glass it’s a light, pale yellow. On the nose it’s floral, with ripe pear, some citrus and cultured dairy owing to lees aging. Some beeswax too. On the palate it’s pretty mild, beeswax, lanolin, underripe orchard fruit (yellow apple and pear), light-colored gummy bears, white peach. It’s got some grassiness on the palate and nose too. Very easy-drinking. Leaves a burned sugar aftertaste, the wine is definitely not sweet. Light bodied, medium acidity. Low alcohol (10%), refreshing Semillon. I think this would go great with goat cheese, nothing to back that up just a hunch. Will have the rest tomorrow. Delicious.

Largely unchanged on day 2. I’m picking up a little bit of a limey note which is pleasant but I didn’t notice last night.

January 2, 2024 - Very dry, mineral, high acid, lemon, tart, grapefruit, herbaceous, and faint floral. Need to watch what food you choose. We had a Mediterranean meal, and this wine didn't pair well. This probably influenced my rating but didn't find the wine enjoyable enough to want to repurchase.

December 4, 2023 - Off the list at Commander’s Palace. A bright and refreshing Semillon that was just too light

November 13, 2023 - Medium yellow-green. Medium(+) aromas of gunpowder, chalk, green apple, petroleum, white peach, lime. Medium body, dry, high acid, very long finish. Fruity and reductive. Some texture either from oak or lees contact supported by sharp acidity. Very long finish. Not a complex wine, but super fresh and vibrant at 4 years old, which is astonishing. Producer recommends to drink soon, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this ages gracefully for 5+ years. 91+.

Fantastic pairing with grilled pork rice bowl from Sizzle & Crunch in Seattle which brought fruitiness out of the wine. This wine has weight to stand up against meat dishes and has acidity to cut through the fat. Very versatile wine.
