    September 26, 2021 - Decanted an hour.

Blueberry, tobacco smoked bakers chocolate, black cherry, notes of spice & hint of salinity.

Given as a gift but not worth the price.

September 23, 2020 - Really disappointing. Nice aromas of dark berries, tobacco, and spice, but the alcohol dominated on the palate. A few hints of blackberry and baking spice but too unbalanced. At the price, this was an incredible letdown.

April 9, 2020 - Slightly better than the last bottle; nice fruit on the nose and palate, but unfortunately unbalanced due to alcohol. Lot better with food. Not worth the price in 2016. Unable to predict how it will evolve with time...

December 12, 2019 - Wanted to assess the 2016 Oculus to see if I should buy more and how it compared with the last two vintages, 2014 & 2015. The wine is obviously very young, but absolutely not at the same quality level as its two most recent siblings. The wine is focused, as expected on very primary aromas of red and black fruit with nice notes of vanilla cake. Unfortunately the wine taste like a retarded teenager wearing clothes that are way to large for him...I could hear the wine say "yo dude"...in other words the wine is a bit thin on the mid-palate, is lacking depth and is slightly unbalanced due to alcohol. Don't get me wrong, this is a good wine but way too expensive for what it delivers (for now at least). I won't touch my remaining bottles for at least 5 years to see how it evolves. I will stick to the 2014 and 2015 for my future purchases.
