December 20, 2023 - 2018 Domaine Chavy-Chouet Meursault Les Casse-Tétes. Alc 13%
Moderate clear yellow
A very powerful wine from the first sip
Lemon curd, limes and mineral with rich texture. Still young with great potential
Excellent with crab cakes, slaw and Katie’s esquite ( a Mexican street corn variation)
August 14, 2022 - 87 on day 1, in the low 90s on day 3 in mini bottle
July 23, 2022 - High toned, fresh with some primary lemon and apple notes. Linear, precise with mineral undertones. Needs time. Decent value, assuming a few more years in the cellar bring the fruit and acid into balance.
November 12, 2021 - Tasted very ordinary. Not sure if it was vintage or lack of bottle age but this did not sizzle
September 21, 2021 - Mostly primary fruit aromas. Lemon, matchstick and stone fruit. Round, waxy mouthfeel (malo?). Medium acidity and finish. Unmemorable, a harsh but accurate descriptor.
May 24, 2021 - unmemorable Meursault from a producer I haven't heard of. Very young, lacked character. Peninsula Hotel Yarom event
