January 1, 2024 - Good but not great. My past experience with Ultramarine has been better. I was hoping for a better showing.
December 17, 2023 - Powerful, structured, and drinking very well.
September 7, 2022 - Consistent with our previous tasting note.
May 11, 2022 - Pop and pour. In the glass, desaturated, clear copper, with medium bubbles. On the nose, lemon with a touch of crushed raspberry. On the palate, moderate amounts of citrus and stone fruit, a bit of yeast, and a medium body, with a slight oxidative/metallic note on the midpalate and finish. If you were expecting the typically exuberant Ultramarine profile, this isn't that, but as a champagne with a bit of age, it delivers nicely.
May 14, 2021 - Another so so bottle of this. Had a slight metallic taste to it. Same score as last time.
May 8, 2021 - Crazy bubbles, very fine mousse. Remarkably pure nose with hints of black cherries among citrus and chalk. Crisp and drying on the palate, with delicate but persistent flavors and concentration. Balance impeccable, feels years away.
April 18, 2021 - Quite consistent with my note from a year ago. Balance has improved, but I think this will need a little longer to fully come together. Delicious wine, though!
February 14, 2021 - Fruit a little muted at this time. Drink alongside the Egly Ouriet Blanc de Noirs, it does not have the elegance, but also missing the fruit forward-ness that I expect from a California wine.
January 27, 2021 - Pretty good, but didn’t like as much as the BdB or rosé.
January 2, 2021 - New Years Eve, goodbye 2020
