December 23, 2023 - Continues to knock it out of the park (American Baseball slang to those readers from overseas). Earthy plum and cassis on the nose with cigar box, cedar and eucalyptus adding depth. Wonderful balanced with no signs of deterioration. Bottle paired nicely with the beef Wellington!

Still a long life ahead of it.

August 10, 2023 - Well-kept bottle with about 1 cm of ullage and in great shape. Medium garnet with amber edge. An excellent bottle of an aged CA CS at its peak. It truly was a wonderful example of why we endure the wait. Still plenty of dark fruit but added notes of cigar box and cedar. Drank beautifully smooth, but still with an excellent finish. I do not think the wine would have shown as well even just 6 months earlier or later...it was truly at its peak.

July 13, 2021 - Excellent wine at its prime. Velvety tannins, strong fruit well integrated. Hats off to Paul Hobbs

February 27, 2021 - 5 years later this wine is still drinking beautify. Perhaps I detect a bit of raisin notes but it is still an elegant and classic wine with substance. Great color and nose, very much like the last note that I wrote on this wine, it's still in a very good spot. Dark red fruit, cassis, cedar. Medium - full-bodied, with substantive depth, yet elegant. Again I'm reminded of why I think very highly of Paul Hobbs, a lovely Napa wine that is holding up beautifully with no signs of loosing traction.

(Paul Hobbs Napa Cabernet Sauvignon) #6; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-over-oaked; enormous vanilla; cedar box; a little tobacco which is nice, but a solid foundation of wood; TASTE-clearly an over-oaked Cabernet from California; not my style; cranberry; some New England wood; this kind of wine just bores me; RP-92; GV-87
