August 25, 2018 - Opened and let breathe for 2 hours. Drank along side the ‘14. Different but both magnificent. The ‘05 has great fruit and showed nice balance. Lots of acidity left. I disagree with the drinking window. This bottle would have been even better in a few years.

May 24, 2017 - Wow! Everything about this was pretty darn close to perfect! Perfect drinking age too. One of my all time favorites!

May 8, 2017 - This wine far exceeded my expectations. Hobbs' single vineyard wines age beautifully but I did not expect it from his Napa Valley bottling after 10 years in the bottle. Really showed no signs of being on the way out of its optimum drinking window. I would not go so far to say that it is "fresh" at this point but the appearance and the nose would suggest a much younger wine. Still with primary Cabernet characteristics with a hint of tobacco. There is a touch of vanilla but no other reminants of oak. Tannins are integrated. Has a very silky texture and a persistent finish that lasts for 45-60 seconds. Last of this vintage although would buy more if I could find it. My experience with this vintage will likely force me to hold off on drinking the younger ones hanging in the cellar.

April 4, 2017 - Nice wine, great nose, structure, complexity BUT just a good deal of grit in the glass. Very unappealing!!! Kind of ruined my perspective on what I hoped was going to be a Great Experience!!! I am a fan of filtering and giving the consumer a good clean experience!!! Sorry Paul good vine that just made a mess in the glass!!!! Ugh!!

January 7, 2017 - PnP at Panzanella. Followed a 2004 Bond Matriarch. This had a lot of similarities to the Matriarch in that it had great upfront fruit and was nicely balanced. It gets a point higher because it was just a touch more rounded overall and just a little more complex. Great red berry fruit. A hint of Earth. But what I loved was at the end there was this smattering of butterscotch that was very enjoyable and made me keep coming back to the glass to get another taste of it. Very solid across the board.

(Paul Hobbs Napa Cabernet Sauvignon) #6; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-over-oaked; enormous vanilla; cedar box; a little tobacco which is nice, but a solid foundation of wood; TASTE-clearly an over-oaked Cabernet from California; not my style; cranberry; some New England wood; this kind of wine just bores me; RP-92; GV-87
