October 22, 2021 - Very pleasant, rosy and spicy. Expressive above its weight class. A little darker at first with lots in the way of concentrated dark red berry and darker spice with some mineral, but lightens up and shows a playful floral side. Candied red berry. Palate is still tight at the core.

May 3, 2021 - This bottle is much more evolved than the last one I cracked 2 years ago, colour is now garnet although no sign of browning on the rim as yet. The bouquet has softened and now offers dark ripe fruit alongside quite strong almost toasty spicy oak. The palate has retained its elegance but tannins are still quite firm and grippy, however fruit is long and elegant. Good firm Cote de Nuits with a lovely finish, happy to wait for future bottles as this shows promise. Oak may be a touch too dominant for uber ageing but still room for it to soften and integrate. Sweet core of fruit is begining to reveal itself, yum.

    October 7, 2020 - 🏅 Rating 92/100 (4,2⭐)

🍷Firm and full-bodied wine. Jammy sweet red strawberries. Rich on the palate with good presence of fruit. LJ style is showing with noticeable oak. Red grapefruit on the back of the palate and a long finish. This wine is shining at the moment. Deep and concentrated with perfect balance between the big robust and the elegant styles. Altogether justifies its 1er cru status. ⁣

5-star vintage of 2005 requires lots of patience for many top Burgundy, but this one has already opened its drinking window.⁣

📍Les Boudots covers 6.3 ha and sits on the East facing mid-slope in the Northern part of NSG and borders famous Vosne 1er Cru of Malconsorts. The soil is brown limestone and marl. ⁣

This wine is fermented in vats for 3-4 weeks and then aged 15 months in oak prior to bottling.⁣

Louis Jadot hold a long term contract over a parcel of half a hectare owned by the Gagey family. Domaine Gagey has belonged to André Gagey’s family for generations and have had a close association with Louis Jadot for many years.⁣

September 26, 2020 - Certainly is a fulfilling burgundy. Integrate red and black with some structure but almost silky. But not a wine that stand out as some vintages of this have

December 30, 2019 - Very elegant pure nose although not yet that expressive, the palate took 30 minutes to get going, there is a lovely sweet nugget of ripe fruit on the middle palate and very fine silky tannins on the finish, however it does not feel in a great place right now, the puppy fat has gone and it all feels a bit lean and linear. Given the finesse of the tannins and the freshness on the palate it may just be a closed up 2005 - i hope so, and will wait a while for the next bottle.
