May 9, 2020 - Tasted at vineyard last fall and a week ago along side a porterhouse. Rich deep purple, berries, clove, on finish. Tightly wound despite two hours air time. Needs five more years. Love Barnett wines!

April 16, 2020 - Still quite young. Enjoyable but will be better in 5+ years.

March 18, 2020 - Absolutely delicious. Soft and supple tannins I cannot believe how well the 2017 vintage is already drinking.

February 20, 2020 - The 2017 Cabernet Franc is deep purple to the core. The aromatics are complex, with loads of peppercorns, black cherries and forest floor as well as fresh truffles and Asian spices. There is some good viscosity to the mouthfeel where some cooking chocolate and plum notes are around the tobacco and gravel minerality. As typical for Cabernet Franc the tannins are slightly more gripping while the high elevation acid swoops in for balance. The finish is pretty and long with cherry blossoms and cedar lingering. For those who truly understand Cabernet Franc this wine will be interesting young, but for all this wine should age beautifully for the next 10-12 years (2029-2031).
