March 30, 2024 - 1/17/2022 disgorgement. Opened around 2 hours prior to serving. Poured alongside a Krug 167eme. Comparatively, this showed much more richness than the Krug -- quite a generous wine. Lemon and cream, puff pastry, toasted nuts. Lovely, but I think this will improve a few more years in bottle.

January 19, 2024 - A coiled ball of energy, with dense fruit, bright acidity, and muscular structure. I thought this superb–with pure fruit and emerging complexity–though it will take a while to hit peak. My first time with this wine.

December 4, 2023 - One of 2 bottles opened by Dan at the dinner (Dan thought this was the better of the 2 bottles). 67% Chardonnay from Mesnil-sur-Oger and 33% Pinot Noir from Aÿ. All from the first pressing. January 2022 disgorgement. Less than 1g/ltr dosage. A concentrated Champagne. Medium yellow color. Clean profile with lemon zest, almond and grapefruit notes. Richly textured. A slight metallic note on the finish. 94 points.

December 2, 2023 - CWM Holiday Dinner - 2008 Champagnes (Pa Lian Burmese, Wheaton): Deeper color than many of the others to this point, showing pear, red apple and peach notes. Underlying doughy quality. Quite creamy in texture with perfectly ripe orchard fruit flavors. becomes more nuanced as it sits, adding vanilla crème and dried stone fruit qualities. This was Domino's wotn. Very generous contributions to the evening's festivities. (DTRF)

October 28, 2023 - Somewhat unique in style, yoghurt, creamy, more dairy than fruit-driven. Delicious, too. 93

September 17, 2023 - Drank alongside a 2008 Comtes. This was open for 45 minutes or so before we got around to pouring it. This was much richer than the Comtes, with a nutty, brown butter character on the nose and some brioche. On the palate, this is full bodied with good freshness. To me, this showed more decadent than the Comtes (though they are both lovely wines).

    33% Pinot; 67% Chardonnay. Disgorged January 2021.

    September 7, 2023 - Blind: PM based?

This was the darkest of the four and I thought the oldest. Ha, they're all 2008. This seemed to show more of the wood and oxidation. Lemony deliciousness with a really long finish. Later in the evening this showed even better.

September 7, 2023 - Bookclub--All Wines Tasted Blind (Foretti's in Corona Del Mar): Disgorged October 2022 (147 months on the lees!), with 2/3rds Chard and the rest Pinot Noir. My initial reaction was Pinot Noir dominant, it just gave off the structure and intensity I usually get in Pinot Noir dominant champagne. There is a cool richness, impressive in how concentrated this shows. Light lemon, long finish that is marked by citrus and tang.

July 20, 2023 - This is a wonderful Champagne showing both the intensity and freshness of the great ‘08 vintage. There is some maturity to the ripe stone fruit flavors but the structure here suggests that a few more years of aging may be helpful. The finish is fabulous with great complexity showing notes of chalky minerals, lemon oil, baked apple and toasted brioche. Intense and grippy with great succulent acidity. 94+
