September 15, 2023 - - Beautifully accessible nose, red cherries, wild cherries, lots of firestone. The oak is nicely integrated. Has a nice vibrancy, high acidity. The tannins are well harmonised, everything is round and polished.
- Not ultra complex, but the focus here is on enjoyment to drink it easily.

February 7, 2022 - Incredibly savoury, with notes of tomato leaf, mint, charred wood, cedar, seaweed, and mushroom alongside the red fruits (raspberry, cherry, strawberry). A terrific long finish. Complex, well-balanced, but maybe lacking a little in richness and concentration. It will be interesting to see where this goes over the years ahead.
June 19, 2021 - Still too young. Closed, but with potential. Will improve with another 3-4 years in cellar 90-92p.
September 14, 2020 - Erster Eindruck, der auch der letzte sein wird: schlank. Gar nicht mal im Sinne von dünn, sondern eher von spröde, unzugänglich, sich zierend. Jemand, der sich hinter seiner übergroßen Sonnenbrille vor dem wirklichen Leben versteckt. Eine Diva, die sich erst mit einer guten Stunden Luft nach dem Dekantieren so langsam zeigt, und auch dann noch längst nicht in all ihren verborgenen Facetten. Sie gibt sich zugeknöpft, lässt aber gleichzeitig ahnen, dass sie andernorts auch durchaus offenherzig kann.
Am Anfang steht Veilchen-Salmiak. Genau: Diese kleinen, rautenförmigen Pastillen aus der Apotheke mit stark floralem Aroma. Eine im Grunde unmögliche Kombination von krass abweisend und lieblich, die man entweder sofort mag oder der man nie etwas abgewinnen können wird. Dann, ein kleiner Höhepunkt: Vanilleeis mit heißschmelzendem Karamellkern. Später: rauchig, eher einer Spirituose gleich, was der (allzu) präsente Alkohol nur unterstreicht und der sortentypischen Eleganz abträglich ist. Frucht, die im Violetten verhaftet bleibt: Pflaume, Sauerkirsche, kurz vor der Reife.
Und dann verschließt sich die Grande Dame, die heute von Migräne geplagt oder anderweitig indisponiert scheint, ihrem hoffnungsfrohen Publikum auch schon wieder.
September 13, 2020 - Austere at first, present tannin, strong acidity. Softens up with air and gives you some dark fruit, then smoke.
German in style rather than Burgundian. Not quite my style. It was a pleasure for the second hour after opening, though. So my guess is it's going to be good 2022 to 2030 or so.
