August 3, 2023 - This was real good. More open than my last time with this bottle in ‘21. Fruit more in the foreground. Dark cherries, beets, black pepper. Not one to dazzle with ripeness but more with aromatics, elegance and balance. Medium-full bodied. Natural winemaking in the best way which is true to terroir and without any winemaking signatures. Tannins need a little bit of time to resolve, but fine to drink now with food.

April 15, 2022 - No extensive notes. Earth, beetroot, a hint of pyrazine, this unfolded beautifully over 2 hours open. Of the recent vintage Chevalerie wines I've tried, this shows the most promise to improve with age.

December 21, 2021 - The nose on this is sooo excellent. Super intense black pepper, fresh cut green pepper, cloaked by dark fruit. The palate unfortunately did not quite match up to the nose, but I think in time it will improve. Dark fruit like a very dry black sour cherry, supported by slightly green vegetal notes, dark minerals, earth, tobacco, red beets. Medium bodied. Good purity and freshness. Last glass showed serious promise. Feels like its easily 5-10 yrs away.

December 18, 2021 - Deep purple color. Beautifully aromatic, pretty complex, with savory notes of horsesaddle, some barnyard, but also pure black and red berries (black cherries, blackberries, also some red cherries), there is lot of dark minerality, as well as a touch of herbal/vegetal note adding complexity. It‘s medium-bodied, with high almost citrusy acidity adding beautifull freshness and medium+ slightly chalky tannin adding grip. Long finish with plenty of complexity and tension. An excellent Bourgeuil from this top-notch climat. Not exactly a steal in the context of Loire Cabernet Franc, but it oozes elegance and finesse while being true to the terroir. This can probably also age for another 10 years or so.

May 31, 2021 - Really fresh and lithe. Strong vegetal notes, medium red fruits, earth, citrus. Lovely acidity. Elegant.
