December 8, 2023 - Drank at Cleo’s holiday party. Opened a gave about 1 hour of air. For such a hot vintage this maintains great freshness. Dark cherry and forest floor. Some spice and tension on the palate. Long finish. Many years ahead.

January 29, 2023 - Opened the day before, decanted 3 hours before drinking. Brick red front to back, raspberry on the nose and in the mouth moving into a dense, deep, low noted core with savory, meaty flavors and chunkier tannins before finishing on good acidity.

Should have read my notes before popping, these really need a few more years for those tannins to settle. Cork just wouldn't stay in the bottle on this one.

October 14, 2022 - Waves of gorgeous red strawberry and cherry fruit, perfectly ripe and powerful but weightless and juicy, with some hints of spice in the background. My first Thomas wine and this damned impressive.

May 9, 2022 - Nice nose but the mid palate somewhat thin.

March 27, 2022 - Red intensity up front, striking acidity hits right away and continues through the finish, bullying whatever other flavors are hidden in the middle. Of the recent Thomas vintages, this one is probably the most closed off and tight at this point. Needs a long decant or several days open on the counter, and will for a few years. May come back to try again in '24 or '25, otherwise even the 19s are more accessible at this point IMO. Funny that I happened to pull two of the deepest, darkest wines from my cellar for a light-hearted birthday weekend... HA.
