Community Tasting Notes 10

August 12, 2023 - Last time I tried this I remember it being a little rustic and green fruit oriented...this time, though, it was far more integrated and charming. A little honeyed note joins. Fresh and rather charming.

February 22, 2023 - Our first Grechetto. Interesting grape. Pale honey color in glass. Nose of pear, lemon, and desiccated apple. Heavy weight on tongue, nearly unctuous but with crisp acid and saltiness that reminded us of Santorini white Assyrtiko. Palate is pretty complex with white plum, pear, grassy, nutty, and oxidative apple notes not unlike champagne flavors.

Great value paired really well with a variety of flavors at dinner.

August 13, 2022 - pale yellow with green tints. Rich aromas of melons, marmalade, lavender, vanilla, fresh leaves, and, slate. Silky texture, watering acidity, possibly little sweet. Blind guessed 13%. Recollections of a baby sauternes. Balanced like a ballerina. I’d pair it with Foie gras. Tasted a 2020 Assisi 100% Grechetto and it didn’t have the depth or balance. Colli Martani and Assisi are in central Italy nearish Tuscany

    April 12, 2022 - Light golden color.
Muted nose. Managed to get faint herbs and flowery aromas after some time.
Full body, light acidity, grainy texture, mineral, herbs and flowers, some melon and pears flavours, but very little.
Bit spicy at the end with medium length.
This a textural rather than flavourful wine

January 30, 2022 - IWS Tuscany, Campania, Basilicata, Marche, Umbria; 1/29/2022-1/30/2022 (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Green fruit lozenge, slightly jubey with orchard fruits and a spicy underpin. A little meaty and herby underpin shows with time, it is a touch 'rustique'. Juicy acid but quite fleshy, orchard fruit but gone dry, mid palate and front of mouth grip, very long. Compelling. Better than I remember.
