November 22, 2020 - Brilliant, and 100% Susumaniello grape. When people talk about low yields, this, with an average of just ~ 4lbs per vine, is/should be in that discussion. Resounding verve, with equal amounts of grape and place from the PnP until the last drop, some two hours later. The 15,0% abv is there, but purely sensory, as if in a blind spot (even the back label suggests serving 16C-18C). Still, serving it a little cooler is a good move. Would love to drink this again. recommended+

April 28, 2020 - Southern Italy is currently flavour of the month so was on the lookout for something away from the norms. This is a grape which is used only in Puglia as far as I can find out. Red berries, plums and cherries are the flavours and while expecting some Puglian sweetness was surprised with pepper and sharp spices. Indeed both my Son and I had been speculating what grape it would most resemble and our immediate reaction was Shiraz.

What threw us though was that lockdown having driven us to order takeaway we both ordered prawn dishes and were pleasantly surprised at how well the wine paired with both dishes.

This is very different to my stock tempranillo, Mourvedre, Aglicanico favourites but it is a georgeous wine....nice on its own but comes int its own with food. Cannot wait to try with other fish dishes. Really worth a punt!!
