March 8, 2020 - Pop and poured, then drunk over two nights.
Riper than the Pomona, with deep sangiovese fruit, leather, and a sense of stoniness/ chalky notes. On day one this was pretty overt and fruity. On the palate, it's structured and dense, yet with ripe snappy fruit, all with a toothsome feel to it. Bloody meat, iron, and chalky notes add to the ripe fruit. Outstanding balancing acidity. Pretty fruit forward on day one, this gains focus and precision overnight and really comes into its own. I really enjoyed this wine.

February 18, 2020 - Chianti Classico, Riserva, Gran Selezione, etc., new releases; 2/17/2020-2/18/2020 (Stazione Leopalda, Firenze): Anteprima Chianti Classico Collection, Florence

Quite a floral and expressive nose. Approachable style, moderate length. Not something I would seek out, but would drink a glass if offered. Drink now thru 2027. recommended

February 16, 2020 - Expressive Nose of cardamon, anise and spice cake. Black cherry, peppery, grippy, needs food. Cheese and crakers and retaste.
Ripe, fruity, layered and balanced, grip manageable with food, young, hides the 15%abv well. Very nice.

February 14, 2020 - This is very good - I saw that Keith Levenberg just posted a note on this which prompted me to check it out.

Very Chianti - earthy red fruit on the nose, abundant acidity on the palate and good persistence on the finish. 2016 is shaping up to be a great vintage in Chianti, and this wine is a fine representative of that vintage.

February 13, 2020 - Delightful Chianti with a snap of fresh, ripe, fleshy red fruit that brings to mind the sensation of biting into a vine-ripened cherry tomato. Sweet and succulent with primary berry flavors that are unmistakably sangiovese. Tannins are soft and mild in the background but get a little edgier with air when it also picks up a finishing layer of mineral earthiness that feels vaguely metallic. Very nice with pasta but also friendly enough to satisfy on its own as a sipper.
