January 7, 2017 - Tinged brown in color, earthy, with the Rutherford dust characters, had a bit of the classic "French stink" on the nose (I like that aroma). Decanted 1 hour before drinking.

March 3, 2010 - This was a fairly earthy wine with dried currant and cherry notes with a little tobacco character as well. There is some complexity to keep things interesting but it seems angular.

November 24, 2009 - Great deep red garnet color. Nose of ripe cherries, boysenberry syrup, woody earth and cocoa powder. Flavors are similar. Tannins are developed well, with just a touch near the finish. Medium bodied, with just a touch of acidity. Easy drinking Meritage that unfortunately finishes rather quick, although it leaves you with a bit of lingering flavors. Probably not the best QPR either, but enjoyable if you have a couple of bottles.
