June 26, 2022 - I did not keep contemporaneous tasting notes, but this was excellent. More full bodied but well balanced. Classic Rioja profile with red fruits, leather, earth and telltale dill from the American oak. Compares favorably to a Gran Reserva 904. Just entering its ideal drinking window with more improvement ahead. Drink now -2040.

Prunes confites et mures avec un peu de poivre,
profile animal et un brin rustique.
Tannins serrés et finale longue, asséchante et avec
une peu de chauffe.

June 17, 2022 - Great nose, invoking toast and butter with vanilla and jammy notes from the oak. Ripe, almost sweet red strawberry and cherry. Palate toasty oak - toast and butter - with ripe red fruit,. Lots of layers of fruit, oaky tertiary notes, spices and a touch of earthiness.

June 17, 2022 - Had this with steak. Initially the attack is mostly on barrel treatment but after 1 hour the fruit comes out. Mostly blackberry and raspberries and the finale is mostly on sandlewood and spices. Terrific focus and length …. Seemed still young more upside

June 15, 2022 - Very pleasant. Great nose and fruit that fades quite quickly. Surprised it can go through 2060. Save a bottle to celebrate my 100th.
