Community Tasting Notes 14

November 14, 2021 - This bottle kind of overwhelmed me. The nose was lovely with ripe peach and pear, quince paste, a hint of mango, floral notes. The palate however felt a bit like a sledgehammer; big and lush, a touch of warmth showing through. I needed a bit more balance and freshness.

February 13, 2021 - Creamy, low energy wine. Soft peach, floral, and oak aromas. Weighty but not huge on the palate. This is obviously quality wine, but I wonder if there is a cachet associated with Condrieu and viognier that warps the rating.

But my wife says: I would give it 93. A lot of white wines are too acidic. This is comforting.

January 25, 2021 - Superb Viognier with medium acidity, juicy and plush mouthfeel. Light yellow color, clear. Nose: faint cake frosting and golden delicious apple, unripe banana, white flowers.

November 14, 2020 - Water white with a hint of yellow. A fair bit of oak to a strong nose driven by citrus, butterscotch, cloves, honeysuckle floral. I am told it does not have oak, perhaps the sweet richness of the butterscotch? Mouth is smooth and oily with a fairly heavy weight.Finished well with a nice acidity and a touch of leafy bitterness and spice that adds to the interest. This has a good life ahead. Drink by 2030

October 31, 2020 - Just coming into its drinking window; needed a good hour in the bottle or glass to show its full potential. Delicious.
