January 30, 2022 - Blackberry and tobacco on the nose

Rounded and fruity on the palate but with pepper notes. Well integrated tannins

Medium finish with oak and wet stone

March 29, 2021 - This may simply be too young, but it lacked depth of flavour or longevity, disappointing .

March 21, 2021 - Not quite as floral and elegant as I would expect from a higher end pure cab franc, perhaps just tight and needs time. Medium body, acidity slightly over pronounced. Enjoyable finish. Wouldn't buy again for £23

October 26, 2020 - Mid garnet to strawberry rim
Attractive, clear perfume of blackcurrant, redcurrant, brambles and a little raspberry.
A ripe entry with a cough syrup sweetness, the wine is fleshy with lively acidity, sinewy texture that shows liquorice, aniseed and a touch of pyroxene. Medium-bodied, the finish is more medium than long, and the tannins are quite gravelly and grippy. The back palate shows a slight honey note (perhaps too ripe?), yet the overall wine feels fresh and a little minerally. Good wine but didn't wow me.

August 10, 2020 - South Africa Masterclass with Gabrielskloof and Spioenkop (Zoom): Medium ruby, with browning and slight fading edges. Mint and cassis aromas, with a bit of barn. Medium acids and tannins, but quite some alcohol burn, with cherry, blackberry, dark leafy flavours, and tar. Smokes at the back. Fair length
