February 11, 2020 - Tasting at Louis Jadot (Beaune): Layered aromas of rich and sweet orchard fruit with spice and mineral accents. The palate is round with serious concentration and density of chalky fruit. Chewy finish. Almost Coche-like. 91-93+ with terrific cellaring potential.

February 11, 2020 - Burgundy, Day 1 (Beaune, France): Apparently the name comes from little bits of gold-coloured rocks in the vineyard. In any case, this was one of my favourites of the Meursault 1er crus in the tasting. This was expansive, tropical, and just plain exotic on the nose, and that also came through on the palate. A little sweeter and rounder than most, but the acidity does save the day in the end.
