  November 8, 2023 - Beautifully ripe fruits and well dosed oak in the bouquet. Same on the palate, butter and yellow fruits, round and beautiful acidity. Overall and expressive, rich and generous wine. in its young maturity stage.

  June 26, 2022 - Rich, but balanced by acidity. Creamy lemon and some tropical fruit. Less forward, oaky and tropical than the ‘16. Light mouthfeel for the good amount of body. Finishes long.

  October 1, 2020 - Poured blind. The oak in this seemed very prominent to me. In seemed to darken the color (?) and also juxtapose against the acid and fruit, that came through in a pineapple and pear impression. Finished spicy with some of the toasty oak. Stylistically, I preferred the 2018 Arnot-Roberts Trout Gulch Chard that we poured blind next to it, but there were others at the table that liked the Young Hagen's style so I'd suggest you take my note here as a comment on style rather than quality. This is a good wine, but was on the oaken side for me.

  February 27, 2020 - Honeysuckle and beeswax nose. The palate doesn't really give up much. Some neutral wood seems evident on night two but the fruit is closed. Feels rich enough to open into something more. My track record here is limited. It's pleasant. I'd let it chill for a bit longer.
