Community Tasting Notes 2

August 11, 2023 - {screwcap, 14.5%} Still youthful, but a bit rubbery & reductive initially. It blows off somewhat, revealing blue-ish fruit with lots of coconut oak. There's a hard, white pepper note to it as well. Palate follows on, a bit stalky and unyielding; no more than medium weight (on average), rather too warmly alcoholic for the rest of the structure. Low dusty tannins, low acidity. Tastes per the nose. Mid-palate hole; a little astringent around the edges of the tongue. Short/medium length finish. OK wine, but nothing very special. Will keep, but unlikely to improve much I think.

September 9, 2022 - Concentrated nose of cassis, dried cranberry, and prune. Medium-bodied, with smooth, silky tannin and bold flavours of cassis and cola. Very good, but quite closed: sure to improve.
