April 13, 2011 - Major honey, especially in the nose. Also pronounced apricots. Sweet and thick but not cloyingly sweet. Very enjoyable.

June 15, 2009 - Wineflock - Alban Intro/Retro (Home): This wine was once again stellar, showing even better with a bit of bottle age if that's possible. Thick and sweet with great spice and complexity and light on its feet - not cloying at all. So sad that Alban has pulled out these vines... 95-96 pts.

April 22, 2007 - Dinner w/ Dave & Chris (Our House): From 1/2 bottle. Deep gold/amber color. Very tasty, with rich flavors of dried apricots and honey. A touch of almonds/nuts on the finish. Thick and sweet but not heavy. Beautifully mature color; nuanced secondary flavors. The color and flavor profile hint at the 1967 Yquem (no kidding!). Really delicious; wish I had more.

April 22, 2007 - Dinner at Siggy's House (Delas, l'Evangile, Quiceda, Pax, Alban): The color is a deep amber/rust color. The nose gives a brilliant combination of apricot, pear, and honey. On the palate this is thick and syrupy, but with good balance. The acidity keeps this fresh and lively. The taste is of apricot, carmel, and honey, but pushed more towards creme brulee than pure fruit. The finish is very long and satisfying. Really a nice way to finish the night.

March 11, 2007 - Golden caramel color, with oily texture. Concentrated nose of pear, honey, apricots and spices. Mouthcoating palate, with great intensity and robust flavors. A finish to last a lifetime, really full and complex. A great alternative to Sauternes.

May 10, 2006 - Rich gold color and a wonderful nose...that if done blind would have made you think sauterne, sweet spice and caramel with a great fruity balance of ripe apricot and maybe a touch of pineapple. Pleasing entry that was well framed with a smooth viscosity and thickness that was truly unexpected...the sweet fruit structure had an even acidic balance and if there was a fault, it would have been a short to medium finish. This package was great surprise.
