December 2, 2023 - Very dark. Blackberry and cherries on the nose. On the palate: starts smooth - berries in the middle- long aftertaste. Feel the cab sauv. Firm, good now - but will stay at the summit 5+.

June 22, 2023 - Similar to last year’s note. Well put together but not flashy super Tuscan. Broad range of fruits, some chocolate, nice silky mouthfeel, medium finish. I keep wondering if it will open up or whether it is stuck in this spot. More bottles left to assess thankfully. Great QPR at purchase.

April 14, 2023 - I’ve never met a bottle of Piaggia that I (and especially my wife) did not love; hence, I buy it by the case. It is a unique Super Tuscan in both taste and value, finding that sweet spot of affordable high quality. The nose is inviting with dark fruit, five spice, oak and chocolate. The fruit is sumptuous, the tannins elegant, and the finish medium-long. It truly tastes like warm sunny Tuscan air and harkens to a time when you could sit on a deck a la Benny-G after a hard day’s “telework” sipping a glass as your steak and asparagus was being prepared. Love it!

April 20, 2022 - Not as flashy as some super Tuscans with their new oak but great fruit and cherry and some herbs. Nice wine for the price and will last a while. Won’t try next bottle for at least a year.
