  September 21, 2021 - Organic viticulture. Unusually for Vouette & Sorbée, a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay (and not a mono-varietal Champagne), disgorged 14 May 2018, no dosage. Medium golden colour with a hint of copper; initially the nose is quite oxidative, but this clears up with some oxygenation, deep and smoky, rich and vinous, white nuts and red apples, flowers and citrus, brioche and minerals; powerful palate with great drive and minerality, ripe style but with quite fierce acidity, excellent flavour intensity, lively mousse and some yeasty (even Marc-like) notes, noticeable skin bitters; excellent resonance and length. According to the back label this wine may cause "euphorie passagere" (fleeting euphoria), but I would say that above all it requires (and rewards) careful consideration, as the complexity in this layered and nuanced Champagne is really quite impressive.
