May 5, 2024 - Pausing for the Cause Fundraiser and Dinner (Obelix - Chicago IL): In contrast to the 2003 getting tired, this isn't even close to ready and not yet fully enjoyable. Rich and dense, but clearly reserved and coiled with taut structure. Nicely floral start with good richness certainly bode well, and I expect 93+ point potential, 2028 forward.

May 1, 2024 - Decanted 1 hours, drank a couple of glasses over the 2 hours after that.

Nose of lemon, vanilla, guava, orange blossoms.

On the palate, meyer lemons, honey, white peaches, lemon pith into a finish of crushed rocks, salinity, light spices, lemon cream. Medium long finish. The pith bitterness seems to be driving the core of the palate and it wasn't super pleasant.

Saved the rest for the next evening (24h+). The pithiness rounded out and was much more balanced and pleasant.

March 1, 2024 - Dripping with golden honey, the 18 MdT is impressive. Ripened, concentrated, full of flavor. Initially kind of soft and plush, but with air, the acidity kind of peeks out. For an 18, it’s chiseled, but there are some marshmallow notes that work their way in with oxidation such that I do think this is an early drinking vintage. Delicious and worthy of a splurge.

March 1, 2024 - Had a couple of small pours. Laser focused, but accessible, with a mix of white fruit and hints of golden chardonnay notes. Quite stone driven. narrow palate, but quite light and no hints of the warm vintage. Surprisingly persistent finish for such a ethereal mid-weight wine. Hard to put down.

January 31, 2024 - While it does have a greater shade of ripeness theres still good energy in it. So while there is depth and volume, it is no where near fat. I enjoyed this and will drink more of it.

September 17, 2023 - A killer nose here, flinty and lemony, pop corn. Elegant palate, they managed the hot vintage well. Top drawer material.

September 16, 2023 - Fantastic. Transcends the vintage. WOTN when tasted alongside Roumier, Ledru, Fourrier. You would never guess it is from one of Chablis hottest recent vintages. There is balance , complexity and poise at every moment of the experience. Very complete.

August 14, 2023 - Minerals but also a fair amount of fat. Blind possibly more a Corton or good Chassagne Montrachet than a Chablis - guess due to vintage. Impressive. As good if not better day 2.

August 2, 2023 - Very balanced but intense nose of ripe apple, lemonpeel, lactic tones and wet stones, very powerful on the palate with very long finish and a lot of complexity. By far the best Chablis I've ever had, however needs lots of air to shine. We had the first two glasses at lunch, the rest at dinner, and this worked wonders.
