December 24, 2021 - Mahogany and opaque. Open bouquet with early aged aromas of mushroom. Primary aromas of plum blackcurrant blueberries blackberry, liquorice and black jelly bean with graphite gravel and flowers. Margaux like with a feminine extroverted nature. Beautifully balanced with good length. Should drink well for another 20 years. Riedel Bordeaux glasses. 16 degrees C. Good from opening. Stunning wine.

December 8, 2021 - Make no mistake, this is a future legendary bottle of LMHB, but it remains quite youthful. Dark in hue, the wine is intensely concentrated, powerful, full-bodied, and tannic, yet, graceful, balanced, and complex. The fruit is dark, fresh, elegant, and smoky. Refinement measured with power, the wine coats every nook and cranny of your palate, leaving you with waves of ripe, sweet, earthy, rich fruits that stick. If you have a case, pop a bottle. If you have a few bottles, wait a decade and drink it over the next 30 or more years after that.

October 8, 2021 - Slightly corked, decanted to serve. Some hue of dark fruit and sweetness found. Would have been quite good.

October 2, 2021 - Cellared since release, perfect cork and fill. Decanted 4 hours, drunk over 2.5 hours. Dark red to rim. Decanting really helped vs. pop n pour last time, where it took hours to show well. Red fruits, smoky gravel, warm earth. Medium-full body, a bit more powerful and youthful than the 2000 Haut Brion drunk with it. Excellent balance and depth, long finish. Outstanding, hard to pick a winner between this and the Haut Brion. Both still on the upswing and likely to be better in another decade.

September 17, 2021 - Young, intense, starting to show telltale tobacco/cigar notes but for me this misses the slightly sweet fruit you find in the best older HBs. Certainly wouldn't be my first choice at this price point
