January 27, 2024 - CLassic Nebb that punches above its weight. Really expressive. With a little more depth and fruit this would definitely by upclassed. Already starrting to show a littel browning on the edges, so maybe drink now - 3 years.

October 16, 2023 - This wine reminds me on our visit in Fabio‘s Agriturismo in the same year (2018). I just love his wines. Still a little shy on the nose, with nice and soft tannins, yet a little too young. Could be a little longer in the finish. Surely could improve for at least another 5 years.

November 27, 2022 - Last of a case, the wines have been very consistent. Light on the palate, perfumed with roses, red fruits and roses on the palate. Cellared since original release.

August 6, 2022 - Light-bodied, strawberry fruit. Good effort from what is now appearing to be a somewhat tricky vintage.

July 7, 2022 - Again very nice, I think there is an addition of a tarry note now which makes this all the more savoury. Today I noticed the 14,5% alcohol more, I do wish it could have been 13,5 instead because there is a little bit of heat in the finish. Still think it is very Burlotto and Verduno, something I find in general in 2018 Barolos tasted during a visit in the spring.

December 11, 2021 - Continues to improve -- light and fruity, and with time shows more Nebbiolo character. Still, nowhere near the 2017 Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo from yesterday, a much more serious wine. Cellared since original release.

June 9, 2021 - My second vintage of this wine after the 2017. They are quite similar, with this perhaps a little lighter than the previous vintage, from memory of course. I’m surprised so many notes seem to mention this as a typical Nebbiolo because to me it is an atypical, distinctive one, speaking of Verduno and Burlotto rather than being an average Nebbiolo speaking of Langhe in general. Don’t get me wrong, a Nebbiolo being more typical is not a bad thing, I just don’t see this as it and to me this is the charm of this particular wine.

Something special about this that I recognize from some but not all Burlotto experiences is the silky texture and the white pepper and salty licorice savouriness. I haven’t found the same anywhere outside of Burlotto! There is also more typical cherry, roses, mint and violet notes.

A very nice and distinctive wine!
