Community Tasting Notes 15

February 11, 2023 - Wine was old, not good. No fruit and a weird nose. Expected with 4 1/2 year-old Sauvignon Blanc!

March 18, 2022 - Really nice Sauvignon Blanc. A yellow sunshine color and a fragrant nose of melon and almond with hints of lemon and pineapple. The tastes are of honeydew and cantaloupe with touches of almond and mango that transform with flash of pineapple-lemon acidity (slightly reminiscent of Sweet Tarts) for a wonderful complex finish.

Served with fish tacos with mango Cole slaw. The wine held up nicely to the chili powder and cumin seasoning on the fish as well as the acidity of the vinegar and sweetness of the mango in the slaw.

February 5, 2022 - Grapefruit, lemon zest & creme fraiche come through on the nose & pallate.  The later presenting a smooth creaminess, providing a welcome balance to this wines bright acidity. An elegant approach to Sauvignon Blanc which was stellar by itself but also made a good pairing with a Mexican spiced shrimp bake! ($32) [2/5/22]

October 25, 2021 - Pale yellow-green in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of lemons/limes, grapefruit & peaches with overtones of floral notes & lemongrass, stony & a hint of minerals. Light bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth, crisp, ripe fruit flavors of lemons/limes, peaches & white grapefruit with lemongrass, stony & minerals. Lingering dry finish. Drinks quite well at present but it should develop with an additional year of aging.

October 9, 2021 - A little more fruit forward than your typical European Sauv blanc and it’s good!
