September 25, 2023 - I’ve drunk through much of a case here. Still packing a punch, it can use with a bit of decanting I think. Dark fruits pretty forward and a bit of burn suggests to me that the alcohol is not properly integrated, which I would expect by now. Good for every day and reasonably priced, I would have it with heartier fare and a big cigar. Not unlike Mr. Churchill’s preferences.

March 11, 2023 - What I can expect from wine , that rests for 18 months in American oak barrels. During this period, they carry out 2 or 3 rackings to clarify wine naturally.
Finally, prior to being released onto the market, the wine rests two years in bottle...and it coast 13.85 €?!

Nice aromas of red cherry, flowers. Taste - big surprise with a lot of black coffee here! Red cherry, red currant. Too much acidity and too much oak( maybe they should keep wine in barrels less then 18 months) Great wine with great QPR

December 19, 2022 - As with nearly every wine bought in quantity, the last bottle is best. Open, fresh, clean, very moderate acidity, no tannin, mellowed fruit. A cool vintage in Rioja which shows in this example. Nothing bold or muddy, no bones for the long haul, now peaking. Found one merchant with 10 bottles left and ordered them all. For consumption over the next two years. (Not that Rioja can't last forever: the 1953 Reserva Especial of this wine is still going strong).

September 9, 2022 - It feels a bit sacreligious to actual rate Churchill’s farvoite Rioja on the occasion of the Queen’s death. So I will say, this wine acquits English sensibilities well and God Save the King. I believe that I shall smoke Churchill’s favourite cigar tomorrow - a Havana Romeo y Juliette, again to honor our allies across the pond. She was a dear old girl, Elizabeth, and her wisdom and leadership will be sorely missed. Good night, sweet Princess.

August 26, 2022 - L: dark red, little brown, slight cloudy
    S: ripe red fruit, alcohol
    T: ripe fruit, oak, vanilla
    MF: dry
    F: medium-short

    would consider buying again.
