October 8, 2023 - Vinetasters: Young Northern Rhône (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. More syrah-like aromatics on the nose here. Black pepper and sweet fruit that helps balance out the structure. Nice spice quality, and pleasant weight and balance, especially with the acidity. My 3rd, group's 4th.

August 17, 2023 - From coravin. Great barnyard funk to the nose. Med body. Red fruit with telltale Syrah flowers and savory notes. Tanins still unresolved. Very tasty. Should improve with a few more years.

June 23, 2023 - Musky blueberry, dark cherry, garrigue and violets to the nose, with a liqueur like concentration and pronounced peppery, herbal edge. Hints of game (fur?), iron and coffee bean, with initial barnyard vibes that recede. Quite powerful and direct, with a bit of warmth. Barrel toast and thick, sweet tinged fruit to the palate, alongside bitter cherry pit. Smooth and juicy, but also a touch rustic and needing some time. 92+

December 21, 2022 - This pours medium purple in the glass. The nose medium intensity and medium complexity of crushed slate, fresh blueberry, crushed black pepper, bay leaf, a touch of blood orange, animal fur, iron, and violets. The palate is structured entering on youthful macerated blueberry, turning to medium chalky tannin and medium acid. The finish lingers impressively replaying the very minerally notes of crushed slate against fresh blueberries. All in all this is solid stuff. The balance on the palate and of overall extract is immaculate and really the only thing holding this wine back is the overall complexity and expressiveness. I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a little closed right now and that it will emerge even better in 10 years.
