September 24, 2011 - Lead pencil and stinkier minerals on the nose. Impact-full but not heavy on the palate, with uncompromisingly dry flavors yet a truly low acid impression.

May 14, 2011 - Deep, dark maroon color. Raspberries, blackberries, fresh sharpened pencil, tobacco, minerals, dried herbs, and a bit of a floral element on the nose. Medium body at most with very nice acidity. Initially pretty tight and tart on the palate, but it opens up nicely with some air and adds a bit of weight. Very tasty on its own, but screams for a nice plate of meat. Decent length on the finish. Tasty now, but this could use more cellar time. I won't open another bottle of a year of two.

January 9, 2010 - Rustic, and complex, with hints of red currant, raspberries and some pine with graphite. Similar to previous bottles - should have at least 5 years to it.

June 29, 2009 - This was a pleasant surprise. Fair bit of tannin and a decant would have helped. Quite dark and nice green/tobacco notes on the nose and palate. The right kind of herbal element. The cab franc worked really well here.

January 13, 2009 - Pencil lead shavings blended with black fruit. Mineral laden, earthen metallic tomato. Freshly laid asphalt steam. A big wine, large tannins with finesse and power. Powerful earthy wine of the old school variety. Terroir dominates.

July 9, 2008 - Wow! This is dark, nearly black in the glass, and packed with Cab Franc flavors and sensations - chalky minerality, capsicum, earthy tobacco, acidity, big tannin and a solid deep core of fruit. This wine has knocked Greenblanket off balance but he wants more.

May 12, 2008 - This wine was an amazing deep red/purple, almost black-- very interesting, with floral aromas and deep raspberry and red currant flavors with a rustic, yet smooth finish. Very unique, very fine wine. 90-93
