  July 14, 2022 - Over one+ hour decant time. Deep purple-garnet in colour. Blackberries, licorice, sweet tobacco, and some hints of milk chocolate on the nose. On the palate, there are blueberries, boysenberries, with some cinnamon and black pepper. Medium bodied with a medium+ finish; a touch hot.

  June 4, 2022 - Decanted 3 hours, paired with grilled burgers. Amazingly rich and complex, with sweet black fruit, chalky tannins, a zing of acid that worked really well with the fatty burger, and a sweet vanilla finish. Drinking quite nicely after some airtime, a bit of a surprise with this being a 2016, but I'll take it! Delicious stuff. Drink now with a decant - 2036.

  March 13, 2022 - Drinking nicely. Pnp, but better after an hour in the glass. Sweet fruit and ample tannins to hod this wine in check for a few more years. Medium to full bodied with nice mouth feel. The wine has really developed since it’s release and is a good value. No need to wait. Is great with burgers, pasta, and cheese. Had it with cheese and charcuterie while watching Michigan St and Purdue basketball.
