Community Tasting Notes 7

  • Outplaying Likes this wine:

January 14, 2023 - This bottle was delicious and interesting, but much different than the 18 and 19. More reduced, showing similarly to some Oregon Chardonnay producers. Salted popcorn, taut, tart, and seemingly more linear if that makes sense.

January 13, 2023 - So tonight this may have been the most divisive wine - quite reductive on the nose, but such a complex wine. We had this along side the 2019 and 2019 versions and it stood out as different from both of those wines. I liked it.

August 25, 2021 - Gorgeous! Lightly reductive on the nose, expansive on the palate, and with those savory notes that I often get with Stephane Tissot’s wines. An A+ Chardonnay.

June 18, 2021 - Afternoon quickie at Joo Chiat. Drank in Zalto Universal.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, yellow lemon colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of flinty minerals, slight cider, ripe orchard fruits. Developing.
On the palate, dry, good high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of ripe rich orchard fruit, citrus orange pulp, slight cider, flinty stony minerality. Long finish.
Very good quality. Not an oxidative style though there is a hint of cider around. Feels like it has a long glorious life ahead.

October 31, 2020 - From a bottle opened last night. Focused nose full of savory notes, with some reductive petrol as well.

Taut and lively on the palate, with good persistence. Drinking great - this has to be one of the most under appreciated great Chardonnays in the world.
