  April 18, 2010 - Decanted for 2+ hours. Very dark color, and some of the cloudiness has precipitated out. Cedar, leather, and spice on the nose, with some red fruits and funkiness. This bottled is a little corked, quite noticeable on the nose, and it may contribute to the somewhat awkward flavors. Elderberry and bitter chocolate flavors, which is a bit awkward. Balanced acidity and tannins helps carry the finish to good length. Fruit flavors on the finish are more enjoyable than the mid palate. This is a good food wine that grows on you after a half glass.

  March 15, 2009 - Really needed some time to open up. Not a pop 'n pour here. After an hour or so, develops very nice earthy and vegetal characteristics. Potting soil, a little smoke, bell pepper. Some sour cherry, but not much in the way of fruit. A very interesting wine.

  December 12, 2008 - Cloudy. Smokey. Funky. Appears to be unfined and unfiltered. Sour, tart black cherry. Distinctively Oregon Pinot Noir. I love it but it is not for everyone...
