October 22, 2023 - Crisp dark purple with ruby rim
Bell pepper, oak, crushed gravel, grilled steak on the nose
Full-bodied wine, meaty bell pepper, dark plum, with chili pepper on the finish
Nice dry wine with medium high acidity and well-balanced. This wine is what made me start a cab franc collection.
2023 Wine week with Tressa
June 13, 2023 - Elegant and rounded delivering a bountiful aroma of riped blackberry compote, cherry, vanilla, caramel and cedar. Tannins are soft, acidity is medium and finish is long, flavory and velvety. Just an under the radar killer wine. Pairs perfectly with a home made pastichio and drinks very well by itself. April 10, 2023 - Still great. The favorite wine of many (wines and people) this weekend.
January 3, 2023 - Still killer two years later.
June 5, 2022 - While it had some bell pepper notes immediately after opening, quickly faded, improved after 2h decanting. If we had another we'd try decanting longer.
Blackberry, licorice, gravel, smooth tannins
Priced appropriately ar slightly high.
Opened at 5yrs, may benefit from more time but wouldn't expect significant improvement.
June 4, 2022 - Big, rich, strong. Surprisingly good w bbq ribs. But overall low QPR. Club wine.
April 30, 2022 - Silky smooth
March 11, 2022 - Coravin tasting, amazing.
August 9, 2021 - 2017 Chappellet Cabernet Franc

April 23, 2021 - This was the first Cabernet Franc I ever tasted when I initially delved into the wine world. This doesn’t disappoint! Decanted several hours (thanks previous posters!). Initial taste after decant brings that mild oak, licorice leather... medium bodied... suuuuper smooth finish. No heavy tannins. Satiny mouth feel. Even after the decant, has smoothed out event more in the glass. For those who want a change up from typical CA cab sauv..looking for the body and presence without the heaviness and punch. This is drinking so well right now. I <3 chappellet
