October 30, 2023 - Drunk for dinner with green tomato curry. 14%. Rich bright gold. Very intense nose of kaleidoscopic flavours - tropical and ripe stone fruits - mango, pineapple, apricot, papaya, peach with caramel and honey. Great richness and weight; great length and freshness. Just enough acidity to balance the sweetness to give it some sharpness and avoid cloyingness - but it is on the sweeter side of off-dry. If you like the style then this is a wine to savour. Still going strong - amazing gewurztraminer!

May 9, 2021 - Drunk for dinner with goat's cheese tart. Deep bright yellow gold. Intense nose of ripe lychee, papaya, apricots and peaches with sweetish notes of honey and caramel. Palate of tropical fruits with the sweetness adding richness, fullness and complexity. Coats the mouth beautifully with just enough acidity to keep it all in balance. Great length. My last bottle, a couple of years ago, was possibly a little more nuanced, so maybe this is hovering at its peak. However, it still tasted great a few days later so I think it will happily hang in there. It is a great example of an off-dry gewurztraminer.

March 3, 2019 - Wasn't expecting the gem this has become. Delicious apricot and lychee fruit along with a bit of well controlled pith as counterpoint. Absolutely fine with a mild coconut chicken curry. Excellent.

February 12, 2019 - This is tropical, delicious and very ripe with an appealing bitter streak that offfsets the residual sugar to some extent. An absolutely stunning nose after an hour of air. Could use more acidity but will shine with the right pairing. You could serve with spicy food like we did- this easily stood up to a goat vindaloo- but I kept thinking how perfect it would be with foie gras. Cheese or dessert would also match well but this needs the savory foie funkiness.

May 2, 2018 - The aroma jumped out of the glass and almost filled the room. Only a slight exaggeration. Truly spectacular!

(Zind-Humbrecht Gewurztraminer Heimbourg) Light golden yellow color; old roses, baked apple nose; concentrated, apricot, mineral, applesauce, lychee nut palate, not going much further from this point; medium-plus finish
