October 1, 2021 - Really enjoyable bougogne. A bit tight on first opening but about an hour after decanting it was delicious. Translucent, ruby rose color, fresh, delicate nose and great round mouth feel.

September 5, 2021 - Far more generous than typical showings of Les Bons Bâtons, but in no way stewed, roasted, or blowsy. Very pretty fruit and aromatics here with sneaky structure beneath the dry extract. Lovely now for the charming fruit, but I don’t see why this won’t gain dimension (and more earth tone) with some time in the cellar. Though I have to confess, I’ve never had a bottle of Barthod that was this drinkable so soon after release.

January 8, 2021 - Absolutely fantastic for a "lowly" Bourgogne rouge. This really is a benchmark classic for this level. Would put many Village wines to shame. Could really use a few years of age to really shine.
