September 17, 2022 - Medium ruby, med to high tannin, med to high acid, high alcohol. Lives up to the structured rep of Morgon. Plum, subtle red jolly rancher & an earthy quality. Not tart, quite smooth mouthfeel. Evolves in the glass, can’t wait to decant & pair with food. Would go great with venison, lamb, other protein with rich mushroom gravy!

August 19, 2022 - Bar yard funk reminiscent of a nameless natural red consumed at Septime La Cave. Sumptuous red fruit, damp first floor, brown sugar.

July 9, 2022 - Two magnum bottles last night, and they tasted very different from 750 mL bottles tasted last year and maybe a month or two ago! There were some cherry notes, but far less opulent and less floral than in the 750 mL. Perhaps this is a combination of time and size? A bit more tannic than in 750 mL, and more pronounced oak in a good way that almost tasted typical / classic Foillard Morgon CDP. This made for even better food pairings. The wine started off chilled, and evolved positively throughout dinner.

June 15, 2022 - Barnyard or wet socks funk on the nose. Suspect it might be bret. Blew off after decanting but still some residual smells. Fruity bit a bit muted with short finish. Will try other bottle to compare and confirm.
